Well, hello there! Thank you so much for stopping by.
Welcome to jennyanneconnors.com! I'm so excited to share my blog with you. Since this site has been in the works for awhile, it only feels right that in my first post I share why I created this space and what you can expect to find here.
Several months (maybe a year?) ago I read a quote from an article on "The Everygirl" that hit home. It goes as follows...
"For many of us, certainly those in our late 20s or early 30s, you've recently reached the point where the life 'road map' that was given to you sort of ran off the page. You probably graduated high school, then maybe college, then probably secured some kind of job, and then-poof!- the magical Now Do This Next didn't appear. And this is even better news. Because as far as I'm concerned, this is when you start to really live. Your rules, your priorities, your life."
This has stuck with me since reading it. It captures how I've been feeling over the last year on so many levels... personally, I graduated college 5 years ago, got a job, moved to Chicago, got promoted and then the "now whats?" began creeping in. Combined with a renewed passion for photography and wanting to completely shift career paths, it has been both terrifying and exciting all at once.
At 27 I've also been gaining more confidence to fully be myself. This has given me the ability to embrace what I am passionate about. Which is many things... but they all share one common thread: creating. When I am creating something, whether it is a photograph or a new recipe, I have a smile on my face and joy in my soul. What that means for me career wise is still unraveling. That is where this blog comes in... I've decided to use it as a way to help discover what's next. This space is meant to give me the freedom to create and explore what I love. Here you will find posts about photography, travel, flowers, food, home, reading, fashion and others.
Getting to this point has taken some courage for me. I can often be myself's biggest critic and also timid in putting myself out there. However, I've given myself permission for this space to not be perfect from the start in order to grow and learn as I go. My goal is to work towards progress and not chase perfection. (So please, kindly bear with me as I navigate this new endeavor)
I'm not exactly sure where this site will go, but I do know this: creating brings me joy and this space will be where I capture that happiness. If you would like to follow along with me, well thank you! I look forward to sharing with you.
All my love, Jenny
