Each winter I wait and wait for Farmers Market season to officially begin... and it's finally here! Last week I headed down to our local market with my straw tote in hand and a giant smile on my face. I love talking to the farmers and learning about what's in season and what's on the horizon. Bonus, you can also usually find heaps and heaps of the best flowers in town here. So, this summer and fall I'll be sharing recipes featuring produce that is currently at it's very best. Each recipe will be super simple with good ingredients that help the main one shine bright. Bon appetit!
Pink Radish Toast:
The fact that pink radishes exist, just flat out makes me happy. This toast brings the delicious peppery taste of radishes to life, is easy to make and is quite delicious.
1 piece of toast | good butter | 2-3 pink radishes | salt
Toast the bread (you can use any kind, I love whole wheat), slather with a generous helping of good quality butter (like Kerrygold), thinly slice and arrange radishes on toast, and sprinkle with salt (I really love Maldon sea salt flakes) And that's it, enjoy!
