Travel Guide: Charleston

Travel Guide: Charleston

I have long dreamed of wandering the colorful, winding cobblestone streets of Charleston. When I found some cheap midweek flights in August, I immediately called my mom and had our tickets books in minutes. August in South Carolina is quite warm, but with cotton sundresses & oversized hats in tow we were determined to see this beautiful, historic city of the Palmetto State. We spent our days happily exploring, ducking inside for ice cream or a cold glass of rose whenever needed. The best way to see Charleston is most certainly by foot. Bring your walking shoes.

Charleston: Wildsam Field Guides. One of my most trusted travel sources. They never mislead and make for great reading on the plane ride over.

The Mills House Wyndham Grand Hotel. The perfect pink hotel. we loved our stay here and especially appreciated the pool to help cool off.

Hotel George. i have also heard great things about this hotel.

Blue Bicycle Book Store. We stumbled into this delight of a book shop when wandering up King Street & it was one of my favorite finds. I found one of my favorite books I’ve picked up in a while here, How to be a Wildflower. The staff is friendly and there is even an adorable vintage bicycle stacked with books out front. Don’t miss this one.

Rainbow Row & Tradd Street. The best way to explore this colorful city is simply by wandering, but these two streets have some of the most beautiful homes i have seen.

Black Tap. The iced lavender latte is a must, especially on a hot day.
